State Traffic/Roadway Engineer The State Traffic/Roadway Engineer is the technical discipline owner for traffic and roadway engineering for ODOT. The salary range is $6,565.00 - $9,668.00/ Monthly. This position is located in Salem. As a State Traffic/Roadway Engineer you will:

Provides leadership and direction to manage the services, programs and activities of the Traffic -Roadway section. Responsible for the development of section goals and objectives, preparing biennial and annual budgets, performance measurements, the employee training program, affirmative action and safety.
Confers with and advises all interested parties in the agency, the Oregon Legislature and state, county, city, federal and private levels on matters that are the responsibility of the Traffic-Roadway Section
Assures statewide consistency within the department in the interpretation and application of traffic and roadway engineering and operations principles, policies and procedures by convening regular meetings of the Traffic Operations and Roadway Leadership Teams.
In the role of State Traffic Engineer exercises approval authority on traffic control matters as defined in the Oregon Administrative Rules. Ensures statewide consistency and uniform standards for traffic control devices in Oregon and the development of guidance documents and manuals and the Oregon Supplements to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices by convening regular meetings of the Oregon Traffic Control Devices Committee.
Exercises lead responsibility for establishing and implementing agency policies and procedures in traffic and roadway engineering. Ensures quality contract document (plans, specifications and estimates) delivery by providing statewide standards and procedures for project design and development.
This position serves as a representative in statewide and national groups to evaluate issues, solve problems, represent state and department interests and provide leadership within the department in implementing relevant national programs and decisions in both the Traffic and Roadway Engineering disciplines.
